White Ferrari (2024)

White Ferrari is the fourteenth song from Frank Ocean's second studio album Blonde (2016). It is an emotional ballad about love and permanence.[1] The song credits The Beatles for a lyrical interpolation and Kanye West for songwriting.[2]

In late 2015, Canadian producer A-Track claimed the song was "the best thing u'll hear this year." Rostam Batmanglij seconded the claim, but the song was not released until the following summer.[1]

Alternate versions[]

Frank told The New York Times that there were 50 versions of the song. He let his brother Ryan pick which one would go on the album, but he ditched the version that Ryan chose because "it didn't give [him] peace yet."[3]

The lyrics shown in the Boys Don't Cry magazine seem to be for a different version of the song. Although most of the song's "final" lyrics are there, it's situated in a different position, and there are some additional verses that aren't heard on the studio version at all.[4] Fans have speculated that the cut out lyrics could explain the song starting abruptly and why Kanye is credited as a songwriter. Fans have also speculated that Kanye says "love" around the 2:50 mark. Frank performed an alternate version of the song that resembled the magazine version at Coachella 2023.[5] Fans have speculated that the alternate version that was performed could have been the version that Ryan chose.
