Metropolitan State University of Denver is excited to be one of 5 institutions in the FamilyU 2024 cohort to support the thousands of student parents who call our institution home! Thanks to Marcus Ware, JD for your support and leadership and inviting us in! This work is personal for me. I'm the product of a parent who was a first-generation student parent at a time when she was the exception, not the rule. It's amazing how much we haven't fixed in the 50 years since she headed to college. Let's get this done!

When I began my career, we could count the number of openly LGBTQ senior higher education leaders on two hands. Now, I'm one of many. I appreciate the work American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) does to diversify the leadership of our institutions and am excited to participate in this incredible learning cohort over the next year.

MSU Denver’s summer orientation for new students kicked off this morning with 100 new Roadrunners and their support networks! Kudos to the Orientation team for a phenomenal start to this season!

Students' educational and career goals are often intensely personal and that passion makes all the difference. Kudos to Douglas County Coroner Raeann Brown, an MSU Denver alumna, for her work supporting families in their darkest times."When she first rolled up atMetropolitan State University of Denverin 2000, it was to pursue a major inChemistryandCriminalistics, which would have led her down an altogether different career path. But then, fate intervened.'During that first year, my dad died,' she recalled. 'And the way I was treated by another state’s coroner’s office was devastating.'"
