Well, I have the right book that has a concoction of all the elements a reader wants to experience once in their lifetime.

Odysseys Beyond Time by @authormahender is set in the backdrop of the Himalayas where we visualise a wide range of cave, falls, flora and fauna as beautiful as if a cinema.

The fascinating narrative revolves around Sage Maneeka and Mahendra, that involves facts unknown to the world about the Indus Valley Civilisation and beyond.

We see a strong emotional bond between Maneeka and Mahendra gradually that keeps me hooked throughout the narrative more than anything. There were a lot of questions asked by the latter, which also pretty much ignited the curiosity within me to delve deeper into the subject.

It is an absolute truth when I claim that the description and the narration of the author unravelled the cinematic intensity of my imagination.

History has always kept me on my toes, but ancient history will never be the same for me after reading Odysseys Beyond Time.

While the plot is extremely compelling, I believe the writing may seem a little unsettling and uneven as per the pace at times for some readers, however, what I feel is, it is needed rightly that way.

The sprinkle of fantasy, time travel, spirituality and history is so precise and accurate that none of the above feels overwhelming at any point in the narrative.

Sage Maneeka as a fictional figure stays rent free in my heart forever now! 🫶

My favourite part of the story was reading Chapter 6, Seeing The Immortal Ram Through My Mortal Eyes. It gave me goosebumps.

The book encompasses everything from the lost cities of the Indus Valley Civilization to Pushpak Viman, Agniastra, Ashwamedha, Nagas, Meluha, the Rivers Yamuna, Saraswati, Ganga, Drishadvati, the Detyas, Danavas, Rakhshasas, Yakshas, the Sages, Sage Bhrigu, Sage Shukracharya, Sage Atri, Sage Markandeya, Anasuya, Ayodhya, Dashrath, information about the Chakras the body energy centres & even the sanjeevani medicine. Through this book I got to know, river Satluj used to be called the Shatadru River. It clearly shows the intensive research that has gone behind this work.
The story is a mix of Hindu mythology plus Science fiction. There's time travel, a time machine & talks about a parallel universe & even a unicorn. The writing style is very engaging with skipping timelines, vast information, use of humour when we read in between the lines (for eg. the mention of Scrooge Mc Duck) while keeping the focus on the mission making thrill a continuous element in the story & a mystery which stays till the end, leaving the story in a cliffhanger. The thing which kept me going was Mahendra & Maneeka's relationship.
The language is simple and the writing very descriptive. It's around 330 pages & 16 chapters. Intricate details like a symbol language used in the title for each chapter, captured my attention.

The story begins with the MC, Mahendra fervently seeking & calling out to Mahadev. He was trying to climb Mt. Kailash when lightening strikes, his ropes break & he falls off the cliff. His entire story (5 years back) flashes before his eyes & the rest of the book takes us into this mesmerizing adventure when he was on an archaeological expedition & accidentally (or maybe he was destined to) time travels to the days of Lord Rama. Here he meets the unbelievable Maneeka who stays with him till the very end of the book.

"Odyssey Beyond Time" by Sir Mahendra Singh Bhaneka takes us (readers) on an extraordinary journey through the realms of time and space. Sir Bhaneka weaves a captivating narrative that blends elements of science fiction, fantasy, ancient history and adventure seamlessly, creating a familiar yet tantalising world.
It was an unimaginable imagination by the author. Like putting yourself in the elite soldiers of Rama, being a tracker and warrior from just ordinary humans like us and time-travelling with the help of Mahadev, is just the out of box imagination.
 
Sir Bhaneka's prose is elegant and evocative, filled with lyrical passages that linger in the mind long after turning the final page. The pacing is brisk and engaging, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that propels the us (reader) forward into the next.
The narration and the descriptions are the strengths of this novel. I appreciate the author for the descriptions that made me imagine some scenarios. His interest in ancient civilizations is truly visible in the book.
The bond between Maneeka and Mahender has been portrayed so well. While Mahender has so many questions to ask Maneeka, she remains silent in many moments. I was taken aback after getting to know the secrecy of Maneeka.
 
 I loved reading "Odyssey Beyond Time" as history and mythology were not my cup of tea but still, I enjoyed reading it, and I am eagerly waiting for the second part of the book to know more about Mahender's adventure and journey and the bond he had established with Maneeka.
Just give it a try and it will surely blow your mind. (you should definitely read it.)

I enjoyed the messy version of Mahender, who enjoys talking a lot - conversing and trying to get to know the other person while Maneeka on the other hand is a pole apart one - she loves meditating and focusing on herself. The portrayal of this chemistry with a lot of twists and turns is a sign of a well-knitted storyline.

Some parts got too contemporary to process the correlation of the plot like “But this time, I had a mercurial feeling similar to what Leonardo da Vinci might have felt before entering the cave that he found, which changed his life.” Now here correlating the Indian Pre-Historic Era with Leonardo seems exquisite yet relatable.

I would recommend this book if you are looking for some interesting stories and new narratives towards history. This book would also fit for the budding researchers and writers in the same field of interest.

"Odyssey Beyond Time: The Quest for Element Crystals" by author Mahender Singh Bhaneka is a perfect blend of mythology, history, sci-fi, and time travel.

The novel starts when we see the protagonist, Mahender, while climbing on Mount Kailash, praying to Mahadev to send him back in time to meet Markandeya.

He is taken five years back to the Himalayan ridges when he was on an archeological expedition in the Himalayan zone, to trace evidence of Stone Age habitation and Neolithic settlements. He comes across a cave and sees a teenage ascetic boy with a Shiva Linga next to him. Later, a large humanoid, tries to attack him, and somehow, he survives and reaches a cottage beside a river. He meets a forest woman, Maneeka, who resides in the cottage but cannot speak any familiar language like Hindi or English. She was an expert in medicines and Ayurveda.

Maneeka calls Dashrath as her King. After hearing this, Mahender feels that Lord Ram must also be present here. After Mahender gets trained, both of them start their journey into the forest as travelers from the Kaushal Janpad. Will Mahender be able to go back to his time? What's the concept of Chakra and Ravana's Stargate? Read the novel to know what happens further.

The narration and the descriptions are the strengths of this novel. I appreciate the author for the descriptions that made me imagine some scenarios. His interest in ancient civilizations is truly visible in the book.

The bond between Maneeka and Mahender has been portrayed so well. While Mahender has so many questions to ask Maneeka, she remains silent in many moments.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Odyssey Beyond Time" and I would love to know more about Mahender's adventure and journey in the second part of this book.
