We fixed this using Polish sausage and it was quite tasty and filling. My hubby had to add jalapeño peppers to his. Either way, we will be fixing this again!

Either make this with bacon or with no meat during Lent. I want to try the cubed ham. This is so easy and my husband loves it.

I made this for supper last night and it was delicious! I do have a question though. I used the amount of black pepper called for in the recipe and it was a little too spicy for my husband. Did I read 1 tablespoon of black pepper correctly? Thanks!

This recipe calls for 1 Tablespoon of fresh Black pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper. The first time I made this I made it according to the recipe. It was so peppered up that we couldn’t eat it. I’ve made it again and used the 1/2 tsp of white pepper it calls for and 1/2 teaspoon of regular black pepper. It was just right!! I also used one cup of onions rather than 2 cups. With that being said…this dish is awesome! I will make this again and again and my husband loves it. ????
